The Grants and Capacities Support Unit within the Culture and Education Program at the A.M. Qattan Foundation is seeking to contract a highly motivated individual for an assistant curator as per the following description:

Assignment: To closely work with a well-established curator on the production of an art exhibition on the 20th anniversary of the partnership on the residency program at the Cité internationale des arts – Paris, the A. M. Qattan Foundation is seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual for the position of assistant curator.
Detailed Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Contribute, coordinate, implement and follow up on the project planned by the Foundation’s Grants and Capacities Support Unit, in full coordination with the curator, unit manager, relevant staff and the project’s partners.
- Contribute to development and implementation of the project concept and preparation of the project’s work plan in coordination with the curator, relevant staff and the partners.
- Coordinate for projects’ meetings, draft minutes and follow up on recommendations and tasks.
- Responsible for facilitating the liaison between the curator and the artists (translation, organization of meetings, follow-up).
- Responsible for collecting, updating, and revising all information related to the participating artists in full coordination with the curator and relevant staff.
- Responsible for writing the biographical notice related to the participating artists in full coordination with the curator and relevant staff.
- Responsible for communicating with the participating artists in full coordination with the curator and relevant staff.
- Fully responsible for compiling, preparing and drafting all necessary visual and written materials relevant to the project and its publications, as assigned by the curator and in coordination with the relevant staff and the partners.
- Contribute to the preparation of the final event in full coordination with the curator, relevant staff and the partners.
- Contribute to the production of the exhibitions in conjunction with service providers and technical team of each venue in full coordination with the curator and relevant staff.
- Ensure that the technical and design riders are met to all assigned events, in terms of the availability of equipment, proper technical installation as well as proper aesthetics of the setting in coordination with the curator, relevant staff and partners.
- Keep projects records and materials archived and filed in an easily accessible, updated, and well-classified forms both electronically and/or in hard copies, where applicable (this include events files, records and materials).
- Provide all necessary support to the curator and relevant staff members.
- Any other duties as requested by the curator and relevant staff members.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Interest and knowledge of the arts and culture scene in Palestine, and the region at large.
- Have relevant curatorial work experience.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with tight deadlines, high communications and coordination skills, good networking and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to enforce deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office programs.
- Flexible work hours are required.
