The A. M. Qattan Foundation is seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual for the position of Monitoring & Evaluation Officer to work at the Qattan Centre for the Child in Gaza. Following is the description of the position:


Job Type: Full time position- one year contract with a possibility for extension
Line of Responsibility: Director of the Qattan Centre for the Child
Work Location: Gaza

 

Job Objectives:

  • A senior level position with the main objectives of:
  • Design and establish baselines, review, monitor and evaluate projects and activities in coordination with the relevant staff, and report on them
  • Provide technical assistance and support to relevant staff & stakeholders on monitoring & evaluation, and the reporting requirements
  • Work closely with relevant staff to ensure that projects objectives, outputs and indicators are met on time

 

 

Detailed tasks & responsibilities:

  • Monitor all projects’ activities, expenditures and progress towards achieving the set outputs and recommend further improvements
  • Periodically organize and provide refresher training and coaching in participatory monitoring and evaluation for relevant staff and for implementing partner organizations’ staff
  • Collect, discuss and analyze relevant data and perform regular field visits to ensure the quality and accuracy of data collected
  • Produce qualitative/quantitative progress, quarterly and annual reports on time
  • Prepare briefing papers and summary findings of reports and reviews
  • Support management in identifying and addressing challenges in the projects’ performance to ensure annual targets and outcomes are achieved in line with the approved plans and budgets
  • Collect articles, case studies, best practices across projects for evidence gathering and format so they are suitable for external stakeholders and audiences
  • Assist in defining the key project performance indicators as well as monitor that they are met throughout the projects’ duration
  • Support relevant staff on ways to properly document, organize and capture projects progress
  • Attend different learning and sharing events such as meetings, review sessions, planning workshops and donors presentations
  • Undertake field-monitoring visits to assess and evalaute progress of projects’ implementation
  • Develop and update M&E data base
  • Any other work related tasks

 

Skills/Qualifications:

  • A bachelor degree in social sciences or other relevant field
  • Proven track record in monitoring, evaluation and reporting
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience
  • Advanced analytical skills with an orientation to details
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of work with children in Gaza
  • Excellent computer skills, with expertise in using statistical softwares
  • Well-developed report writing skills in English & Arabic languages
