Ramallah – (A.M. Qattan Foundation):

The A.M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF), recently signed three co-funding agreements with the International Development and Relief Foundation – Canada (IDRF), Save the Children and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

From April 2019 to February 2020, the Child Centre – Gaza/ A.M. Qattan Foundation will oversee the implementation of the “Explore, Learn and Enjoy – 2” project, co-funded by the International Development and Relief Foundation – Canada. 

The project aims to enhance the library’s resources including books and educational material. It will also contribute to developing the Visual Arts and Animation Zone and the Information Technology Lab, as well as facilitating children’s access from all over Gaza to the Centre to participate in its diverse activities. The project will directly benefit more than 7,500 children through their participation in courses and workshops, in addition to 11,000 child members registered in the Centre, who will benefit from the library and the different facilities.

The Child Centre- Gaza also signed an agreement with Save the Children to implement the “Quality and inclusive Early Childhood Care and Development” project, which will run from June 2018 to February 2021. The project aims to improve the access of children from the most deprived and neglected areas in Gaza to more inclusive and better-quality educational activities. The project also aims to contribute to facilitating children’s transition from the early childhood stage to the primary education stage, in addition to raising awareness among parents and teachers about the comprehensive methods of modern education and the importance of providing support to children from an early age to contribute to their development. This project is expected to directly benefit approximately 6,000 children in the 3-6 age group, in addition to 90 teachers and 400 parents.

An agreement was also signed with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation to extend the project “Culture, Art and Social Engagement” (CASE) until the end of the current year, 2019. This project is implemented by A.M. Qattan Foundation’s Culture and Arts Programme (CAP) and Educational Research and Development Programme (ERDP).

The CASE project aims to enhance social engagement and participation through culture and arts.

The project has been implemented in Ni’lin, Jericho, Qalqilya, Hebron Governorate, al-Jiftlik, Deir al-Ghusoun in Tulkarem, ‘Anabta, Qatanna, Abu al-Nawwar Bedouin community in al-Eizariya, Gaza, Khan Yunis, Beit Lahiya and ‘Abasan.
