The Mosaic Rooms opened the first UK solo show of Behjat Sadr (1924-2009) on 29 September. Sadr was one of Iran’s most significant and influential artists. Her work is explored in this exhibition through the cities that influenced her: Rome where she studied, Tehran where she worked and taught and Paris where she moved following the Iranian revolution. Sadr’s daughter Mitra Goberville-Hananeh and other family members joined guests at the exhibition opening. The exhibition is part of a series of modernist painters curated by Morad Montazami, part of The Mosaic Rooms’ tenth anniversary exhibition programme.
