On 22 July 2018, the Child Centre – Gaza / A. M. Qattan Foundation launched the Activities and Events for Children in Al Bayyara Parks project. This initiative is funded by the Welfare Association – Taawon, Bank of Palestine, Muna and Basem Hishmeh Foundation and United Charitable Society of the Holy Land. The project is supervised by Taawon in the context of Let’s Go to Al Bayyara events.
Running until 15 September 2018, the Al Bayyara Parks project organises recreational programmes for children throughout Gaza governorates. It implements a variety of recreational and cultural activities and events.
The project targets around 4,000 children from across governorates. Activities are implemented in the Al Bayyara parks in Deir al-Balah, Khan Yunis, Al-Saftawi area in Jabalya, Gaza, and Tal al-Hawa Towers.
Activities feature free reading, reading stories, drama, free painting, art crafts, physical and rhythmic gymnastics games, thinking games, sports, film screenings, open mike, cultural competitions and reading activities.
Al Bayyara Parks is a distinctively national project. It is part of Taawon’s social development strategy and goals. Taawon’s NGO Capacity Development (Asaas) programme provides services to society from across the spectrum, with a particular focus on children.
