The Foundation organised on 28 January an exhibition for the interactive science exhibits, which were the products of the participants’ work at the first workshop of the Exhibit Development Workshop held at Birzeit University.
The workshop was organised by Walid and Helen Kattan Science Education Project/ Qattan Centre for Research and Educational Development, in partnership with the Exploratorium, in San Francisco.
18 participants from various backgrounds and fields including arts, physics, science and engineering took part in the workshop. They worked together on fabricating known exhibits, in addition to exhibit conception and early prototyping. By the end of the workshop, participants managed to transform some scientific concepts into visual and tangible exhibits, which were displayed in the foundation’s Ramallah headquarters, with the aim of testing them through the interaction of the visitors.
The workshop is the first in a series of trainings and workshops aim at developing a Palestinian team that is capable of fabricating museum exhibits.
The exhibition attracted a large number of families, children, science teachers and those interested in the subject, along with a delegation from Ramallah Municipality, in addition to the workshop participants and their supervisors from the Exploratorium.
