The Walid and Helen Kattan Science Education Project participated in the Nowar Nissan Festival, held under the slogan “Hear my Colour” in the old city of Ramallah between 3 – 5 April. The Festival is a joint initiative between the Municipality of Ramallah, the Popular Art Centre, Tamer Institute for Community Education and the First Ramallah Group. It is held in partnership with A. M. Qattan Foundation and several other local institutions.
The Foundation participated in the Festival with science activities developed by a number of volunteer students under the guidance of the Project team. Activities included interactive experiments; workshops on gases, states of matter, light and optics; an exotic wild-plant corner jointly organised with the Botanical Garden at Birzeit University; as well as recycling through art activities.
The Festival was launched in a press conference in the Municipality of Ramallah, during which Ziad Khalaf gave the Mayor, Mr. Musa Hadid, the master plan for establishing an interactive science centre in Ramallah.
