Gaza – (A.M. Qattan Foundation):
On Thursday, 1 August 2019, children of the “Tales Clubhouse” Programme participated in a storytelling event at the Child Centre- Gaza/ A.M. Qattan Foundation attended by their parents and the Centre’s audience.
The event presented a number of storytelling techniques, including performance, storyboard and the classic Hakawati. Three international stories were told; “Rita Rabbit and the Runaway Pie”; “The Ugly Duckling” and “The Dragon who Turned into a Tree”.
The event was the result of summer encounters with the children between June 11 and August 1, 2019, with the participation of 18 children between the ages of nine and twelve.
The “Tales Clubhouse” aims to develop the abilities of children in the field of storytelling, providing them with different storytelling techniques, and to enhance their self-confidence by encouraging them to tell stories in different events. Children are also encouraged to read and understand stories and transforming them from books on shelves into various artistic performances.
