“In spite of what we ate, we discovered that we were still so hungry.
My mother then called:
Two minutes and the lasagne will be out of the oven.
But we could not wait!
And we jumped again.”
As a follow-up of the series of encounters on children’s literature and visual art for kindergartens, the Ni’lin Teacher Centre/Educational Research and Development Programme (ERDP) of the A. M. Qattan Foundation organised an encounter on So Hungry by Anas Aburahma and Charlotte Shama. Moderated by Lubna Taha, ERDP Projects Coordinator, the encounter was held in Ni’lin on Saturday, 27 January 2018.
A total of 13 early childhood educators participated in the encounter, discussed the book, and created characters using coloured paper. These characters were then converted into video clips, where so hungry characters move on in spite of all that they had eaten.
These encounters mainly aim at promoting the idea of playing with books, words, and paintings. They introduce educators to art activities, which they can apply with children.
