With support from the Qattan Fund for Performing Arts 2015 and Culture Resource (Mawred), the first album of Mina was released. Featuring a fine selection of nine world heritage songs from marginalised areas in Palestine, Portugal, Iraq, Brazil, Syria, Egypt, Spain, Morocco, and Tunisia.
Songs were redistributed and melodies refined. To contribute to transmitting knowledge of world human heritage, songs illustrate living pictures of love, war, human bonds, the portrait of sailors waiting to get back to their wives, lovers’ promise to see each other near a spring, and rebels’ promises of freedom.
In the context of its promotional tour, Mina had performances in Haifa, Jaffa, Nazareth, Shefa ‘Amr, and Ramallah. Mina will also have performances in Majdal Shams and Nablus. The tour will be concluded where it set out in Haifa, on 16 April.
Mina Band members include singers Terez Sliman (Palestine) and Sophia Portugal (Portugal) and Portuguese musicians Pedro Zimann, Ricardo Coelho and Rui Ferreira.
